Mario and his team saved the day! We had a prom dress emergency the week of prom due to alterations by another tailor leaving her dress unwearable. I showed up at Monetti’s at 7:20 AM on Wednesday and was reassured with empathy and professionalism that he would take care of us and we had nothing to worry about.

By Thursday morning I was receiving unexpected (and very appreciated) text updates with pictures of progress! This definitely put my mind at ease and I knew we were in excellent hands.

We picked up my daughter’s prom dress on Friday mid-afternoon. I cannot explain the rush of feelings I had when I saw my daughter in her prom dress; she was beaming again, just like the day we bought it! The craftsmanship and talent of Mario and his team is top notch! Not only was I impressed by the personalized, caring service and quality of product we received, but also the time Mario took to give credit where credit was due by highlighting those from his team who helped make this happen.

Monetti is the only place for tailoring in Madison! I brought in a vintage velvet,

beaded skirt. They had to take the skirt apart and Anthony was fantastic, he and Mario worked together to ensure the skirt was perfect for me! I've brought many items in to Monetti. They always do a precise, fantastic job!

I bought a beaver coat at a resale shop. One of the original clips broke over Thanksgiving weekend, and I'm leaving town on Tuesday for 3 weeks in a colder climate. I need that coat!

I contacted Monetti Tailoring at the recommendation of another tailor in Madison who was too busy. Despite the business being closed on Mondays, I was told the staff could help me if I stopped in at 9:00 Monday.

I arrived a little early, and, even though the door was locked, Gregoria Cacahua answered the door and let me in. No one had told her to expect me, yet she let me in, looked at the coat, recommended a different closure, and told me it would be ready to pick up after 2:00. Wow!

I came back later afternoon, Gregoria opened the door once again, got my coat, and showed me their work -- which was great!

Mario is amazing. I bought my wedding dress in Seattle and working with him has been such a pleasure! My schedule was a little crazy, but he and his team went out of their way to work with me. I cannot say enough GREAT things about Monetti tailoring. I recently brought my wedding dress to them - being petite, it needed a ton of work, but they were patient, spent so much time on it, and got it absolutely perfect. Through many layers of material, lace, and a bit of asymmetry, they made it fit like a glove and I got so many compliments on it. I stopped by this afternoon with a pair of slacks that needed the hem re-stitched. Expecting to drop them off and pick them up in a week or so, I was pleasantly surprised when the tailor said that he would fix it while I waited. An even bigger surprise came when I asked what I owed him, and he said "Nothing. Have a nice day!" Wow.

Mario tailored my wedding dress and he was an absolute perfectionist! The dress was made entirely out of lace and he had the patience and attention to detail to completely remove the lace, deconstruct the dress, and sew the lace back on by hand after making the alterations. It looked incredible! I've referred him to my bridesmaids and other brides and they also had great experiences!

This is the story of how a beautiful men's medium size leather jacket from Florence became a woman's small wear-with-everything wardrobe staple. I brought in the jacket and they eyed it. They gave an estimate and I accepted. They cut off the sleeve- I can't watch! Mark with pins, tweak, tell me it will take some fittings. OK, not a problem if you are working with nice people who are experts. More work, more cutting- still can't watch this part! It took 5-6 fittings but they recut arms, recut collar, shorted length, added a new zipper, and did some sort of complicated calculus of curves and stitching so the shoulders don't pull.

I think the most expensive real estate in your house is in your closet. If something it's not fabulous, it should not be there. My 'new' leather jacket hangs in my closet when I'm not wearing it. It looks fabulous. People stop to compliment the jacket and I tell them the story of it and the two nice fellows at Monetti's.

I have been using Monetti's for the last four years or so on wide range of projects - both lowering and raising hems, replacing zippers on dresses, changing a wide leg pant to a more polished narrow leg, etc. They were also absolutely fantastic on altering a sale jacket that I just had to have that was too wide in the hips and waist and too short in the arms. Always a wonderful job and always wonderful service.
